TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iran exported $60 million fisheries in the first four months of the Iranian calendar year (started on March 21, 2015), rising by 10 percent in terms of value comparing to the similar period last year, said Iranian Deputy Minister of Agriculture Hassan Salehi.

Iran sold over 18.000 tons of fisheries to different countries worth over $60 million, he said.

Salehi noted that the amount rose respectively by 18 percent and 10 percent in terms of weight and value comparing to the corresponding period last year.

Shrimp and farmed sturgeon exports increased respectively by 100 and 200 percent, he added.

1.5 percent of the exports belonged to famed sturgeon, 8 to shrimp and over 80 percent to fish, he noted.
